APPENDIX 1 TO HMEP
EHS FACILITIES
The
following facilities are the facilities that are required to file SARA Title
III reports with the McDowell County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).
This section also includes an aerial photograph of the facility with a
designated vulnerability area highlighted, showing the geographic area that may
need to be evacuated in the event of an incident at that facility.
Vulnerability areas were delineated by information contained in the U.S.
Department of Transportation’s 2000 Emergency
Response Guidebook.

each of these facilities contains a Facility Emergency Coordinator (FEC).
However, due to the potential for a change in appointments and the sensitive
nature of this information, the McDowell County Office of Emergency Services
and 911 Center maintain current listings of this information. Contact between
the Facility Emergency Coordinator and the Incident Commander will be facilitated
through McDowell County 911.

following maps, isolation distances for small spills are identified in yellow.
Isolation distances for large spills are identified in blue. Small spills are
200 liters or less and large spills are greater than 200 liters.
NOTE:
Facilities not linked above either (1) contain only multiple natural gas
wells, which were not mapped, or (2) did not provide information to the LEPC’s
contractor.
